Will end all hiccups for airlines, HC told

Chandigarh: Airlines operating at the Chandigarh international airport would not face any trouble because of sudden changes in the timings of watch hours for the operations of commercial flights in future.
An assurance in this regard was submitted by assistant solicitor general of India Chetan Mittal before the high court on Wednesday during the resumed hearing of a petition regarding delay in operations and lack of facilities at the newly opened international airport.
Mittal assured any changes in the watch hours would be made only after due permission of ministry of defence (MOD) and in consultation with the Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) that runs the airport, all stakeholders, including the airlines, and after permission from the high court.
The development was significant as the airlines operating at local airport were facing huge convenience because of sudden changes in the watch hours by the local Indian Air Force authorities.
