Drunk men cause ruckus on flight to Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Two passengers, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, created ruckus on an AirAsia domestic flight and found themselves in police custody on landing.

Though the incident occurred on Sunday, it came to light on Tuesday, after Air Asia issued an official release. The incident was reported on AirAsia’s Flight i5 1983, on its way from Guwahati to Bengaluru.

Confirming the incident, Kempegowda International Airport police said, “The men were identified as Ajay Kumar and Kala Pankaj, both from Nagaland and working with a private firm.

They were drunk and misbehaved with the airhostesses by shouting at them and ordering them to bring a menu card.” Police sources alleged that the men tried to enter into a scuffle on air but the situation was defused.

“After we took them into our custody we came to know that they were travelling to Hassan to attend a marriage. We registered a case under Karnataka Police Act and produced them before a magistrate. Both of them were penalized and later released.”
