Pune: The Pune district administration has submitted a proposal on compensation package for the landowners in Purandar for the proposed new Pune airport, Pune district collector Saurabh Rao said on Wednesday.
"The proposal regarding the method in which the land acquisition will be carried out and the details on the compensation package has been submitted to the state government by the administration," Rao said while replying to a text message.
Asked about the delay in announcement and the expected date, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in a text message on April 17 had said, "under preparation." Fadnavis, however, didn't reply when asked about the tentative date of announcement.
Officials, including those at the Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC), have refrained from commenting on the issue and aviation experts said that the ball was now in the Chief Minister's court.
