Oil spill at Kolkata airport after aircraft refuelling tanker turns turtle

An aircraft refuelling tanker of Reliance Aviation turned turtle resulting in massive oil spill inside Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) International airport on today.

The incident took place early this morning around 5:30 AM when the driver of the oil tanker carrying aviation turbine fuel (ATF) lost control of the vehicle.

The oil tanker bearing vehicle no. WB 76A 0443 collapsed on the apron service road near taxi bay no. 1 and 2.

Both the driver and helper, indentified as Swaraj Bhushan Tiwari and Rahul Bardhan respectively have been injured in the accident and have been admitted in a nearby private hospital.
