Delhi-bound Jet Airways plane makes emergency landing in Jaipur, all passengers reported safe

New Delhi: A Delhi-bound Jet Airways plane made an emergency landing at Jaipur airport after it was denied permission to land at Delhi airport for bad weather conditions. After hovering for minutes in the sky, the plane made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport due to lack of fuel. For a long time, uncertainty loomed over passengers regarding the landing.
Pre-Monsoon rains lashed in Delhi on Thursday making the visibility and landing conditions worse for the airline. Simultaneously, the plane was running out of fuel. In order to avoid any mishappening, the jet was diverted to Jaipur. The details of the flight no. was not made public. A Jaipur International Airport official said the plane was landed successfully and all passengers were reported safe.
The plane from Leh reached Delhi but it could not land there due to adverse weather conditions, JIA director J S Balhara said. The aircraft was hovering over Delhi but bad weather could not allow it land, as a result, it ran short of fuel following which it was diverted to Jaipur, he said. However, no statement was made by the Airlines regarding the whole fiasco. It still remains unclear if passengers were brought to Delhi via another plane. Airlines and train services are likely to be hit at the advent of Monsoon across the country.
