Udan yet to take off from Taj city

Agra: Even though the Central government had announced flights from Delhi to Agra and Agra to Jaipur under the Udan (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme this April, officials are yet to receive any updates from the authorities to begin the operations.
Under the scheme to improve regional connectivity at affordable rates in tier II and III cities, the government had announced a flight from Agra to Jaipur from June 17 while the Delhi to Agra flight was scheduled to take off from the first week of August.
Officials said that while Air India was designated as the carrier for the Jaipur-Agra flight, Air Deccan was roped in for the Delhi-Agra service. However, officials associated with both Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Air India said that they have not received any communication regarding the commencement of services.
