Ahmedabad airport witnesses water-logging due to incessant rains

Ahmedabad: As incessant rains+ battered the city, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport on Thursday morning witnessed water-logging outside the airport and also near the operational area.
However, the airport authorities claimed that no flights got delayed or diverted due to water-logging at the airport.
SVPI airport terminal manager said that the water-logging did not cause any serious issue to flight operations. "No flight was delayed or diverted due to water-logging at the SVPI airport. The water-logging mainly occurred outside airport, but as the rains stopped in the afternoon, rainwater receded gradually. There was no major water-logging issue near the operational area including the runway," said airport officials.
But many passengers said that there was water-logging near the taxi runway and also near the GUJSAIL terminal near torrent sub-station at the SVPI airport.
