Daily flights from Hubballi to Bengaluru likely from August

Hubballi: Air India, which is presently operating flights from Hubballi Airport, is likely to begin operating daily flights from August first week.

Managing Director of Air India Ashwin Lohani conveyed it to Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi when they met him in New Delhi on Tuesday. Apart from discussing the need for daily flights from the airport, they about completed development works at Hubballi Airport, which now had a bigger runway suitable for bigger aircraft, such as Boeing.

They urged him to launch flight services from Hubballi to Mumbai. It is said that Mr. Lohani responded positively and directed the officials concerned to work out the technical details and time table adjustment to launch the service, Mr. Joshi said in the release.

Mr. Joshi also said that the pending demand for daily flight services from Hubballi to Bengaluru had been now fulfilled and would help to a great extent in improving the air connectivity of the region.
