Flight operations may resume from Mysuru

The Mysuru airport, devoid of any commercial operations since November 2015, may see a resumption of flights from September under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), also called Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagarik (UDAN) of the Union government.

Air Odisha and TruJet, which have evinced interest in operating to and from Mysuru and successfully bid for routes under the RCS, have to commence operations by September.

Manoj Kumar Singh, Mysuru Airport Director, told The Hindu that Air Odisha has sought a night flight plan. He said Air Odisha flight will operate on the Chennai-Mysuru route and is slated to land at the Mandakalli airport at 8.45 p.m. and depart for Chennai at 9 p.m.

But the actual date of commencement of flights is yet to be finalised.
