Gurgaon couple accused in POSCO case held at airport

An elderly couple from Gurgaon, accused in a case of alleged molestation involving a minor, was detained at Mumbai airport on July 3, based on a lookout notice issued against them.

They were handed over to the Gurgaon police, with whom the molestation case involving their grandchild is registered, on Wednesday.

The man, a 59-year-old ex-Tata Steel director from Jamshedpur, now settled in Gurgaon, and his 54-year-old wife, had been flying to London on Monday.

They were in the queue during the immigration check at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport when the system showed that lookout notices had been issued against them, sources said. The couple was immediately detained and moved to Sahar police station.

The senior inspector of Sahar police, Baburao Mukhedkar said, “The couple had a lookout notice issued against them by DCP of Gurgaon (East), Haryana, so we detained them. We alerted the Gurgaon police immediately and they came on Wednesday to take the couple into custody.”
