Sniffer dog catches drugs worth Rs 2 crore at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mumbai Customs arrested a person for carrying a psychostropic substance outside India, while he was departing to Kuala Lumpur by Malaysia Airlines flight.
The custom officials said, on suspicion, check-in baggage of one Suresh Kumar Nagarajan was screened at the Baggage Screen Machine (BSM) in the departure hall.
Before the custom officials could have found anything, the sniffer dog 'Urny' gave positive indication of presence of some psychotropic substances.
Examination of his baggage revealed a cavity specially made with cardboard at the bottom of the bag.
"The cavity was opened and 2002 grams of white crystalline substance was found in plastic bag. The same was examined with the narcotics kit and tested positive for 'Methaquolone' valued at Rs 2 crore in the illicit international market," the official said.
