Techie enters Bengaluru airport with fake ticket to see off wife and baby, lands in jail

A software engineer’s harmless attempt to enter the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru with a fake ticket to see off his wife and baby has got him into trouble.

Amit Kumar, who is from Kolkata, works in a multinational corporation in Bengaluru. On Friday, he was caught by the Central Industrial Security Force for entering the Bengaluru airport with a fabricated ticket, the Deccan Chronicle reports.

At 6.40 am on Friday, Amit Kumar entered the terminal by presenting a forged air ticket that showed he was travelling to Kolkata.

While he was trying to leave the terminal through the officers’ exit, the airline staff caught him and turned him over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is responsible for the airport’s security, International Airport Police said.

When CISF officials questioned him, Amit confessed to have forged the ticket as his wife and child were going to Kolkata and he wanted to see them off.
A case has been registered under IPC Sections 420, 465 and 471. A local court has remanded him to judicial custody.
