Virtual Fencing At Delhi Airport Raises Around 50 Fake Alarms Daily, Keeps Security On Toes For Nothing

Virtual fencing, a high-security measure installed at the Delhi airport is yet to prove its mettle. The alarm, installed to keep an eye on intruder, and reduce the manual security force, is raising a number of fake alarms.
As per a senior official, virtual fencing which is also kno wn as Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) installed at the boundaries of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) has been raising false alarm forcing a dedicated team to manually check the breach, reported Mail Today.
The system is yet to yield positive results.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is yet to take full control of the system as it is raising a high number of fake alarms.
