Man held at Delhi airport with Rs 7.5L gold biscuits

New Delhi: A Chennai-bound air traveller was apprehended at the airport here today for allegedly trying to smuggle out gold biscuits, worth around Rs 7.5 lakh, by concealing them in his bag, officials said.
A senior security official at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) said the incident was reported early morning when CISF personnel deployed for scanning passenger’s baggage detected something suspicious in a bag.
When it was opened and three gold biscuits, weighing 450 gm each, were recovered from it, the official said.
The passenger, identified as Mohammad Sheikh, was handed over to the Customs who are probing the case, the official said.
