Vijayawada: District collector B Lakshmi Kantham, Municipal commissioner J Nivas and CRDA officials on Monday inspected the national highway and canal bunds from Ramavarappadu junction to Gannavaram to take up the beautification works.
As part of it attractive plants will be grown and water foundations, lighting will be arranged along the highway and canal bund. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu ordered the officials to take up canal bunds beautification from Ramavarappadu.
The collector asked the village panchayats to begin the sanitation drive and instructed the VMC to start the sanitation works to maintain hygiene along the canal bunds.
