Bittu says it's a historic step as flight service resumes from sahnewal airport

Ludhiana: In a major boost to the holistic development of industrial hub of state- Ludhiana, the flights from Sahnewal Airport today resumed as the first flight landed at the airport at 1:50 pm, which was welcomed by Lok Sabha MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu and Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal.
Elated over resuming of flights, Bittu said that it would give a major fillip to the economy of the district besides saving time, money and energy of the people desiring to travel to New Delhi. He said that it was a major initiative of the Punjab government led by Captain Amarinder Singh as under the Udaan Yojna the state government would compensate the Air India for loss if any, for resuming these flights, if the number of passengers was not adequate.
Meanwhile, 41 persons reached Sahnewal by the first flight whereas 48 people boarded the plane for Delhi.
