Centre mulls Helitaxi from Bengaluru to Mysuru

Mysuru: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayanth Sinha said that central government is contemplating on introducing helitaxi from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to Mysuru Airport.
Speaking after launching the airline operation from Chennai - Mysuru - Chennai route at Mysuru Airport on Wednesday, Sinha said that they are working on helitaxi service from Bengaluru airport to Mysuru.
"We have recently announced helitaxi services in Bengaluru. Bengaluru will soon have helicopter shuttle from Electronic City to KIA. The price will be closed to the price cost charged by car taxi.
You can check in Electronic City, from there fly to KIA and from there fly to anywhere else in the world. That connection will benefit the people of electronic city," he said.
He said that the authorities of KIA are willing to extend that helitaxi service to Mysuru aswell. "But for that they need 10 to 15 travellers daily flying from KIA to Mysuru Aiport and back to KIA. If that much demand is generated in Mysuru, helicopter shuttle will be very started as early as possible. The Electronic city to BIAL will start within in few days," he said.
