CM asks Air India, IndiGo to improve connectivity

Dimapur: Nagaland chief minister, T.R. Zeliang held a series of meetings with Air India chairman & managing director, Rajiv Bansal (IAS of Nagaland cadre), IndiGo airlines vice president, Rajat Kumar and chief commercial officer of IndiGo Airlines, Sanjay Kumar seeking their immediate attention to improve air connectivity to and from Nagaland.
CMO in a press note stated that Zeliang urged both Air India and IndiGo airlines to consider having additional flights and to ensure that the flights were operated without any disruption.
CMD Air India, Rajiv Bansal assured that Dimapur–Kolkata flights would be operated without any disruption while adding that he would look into the feasibility of operating another flight to Delhi via Guwahati. Zeliang further pointed out to the IndiGo officials that the discontinuation of Dimapur-Delhi flight via Kolkata has caused immense hardship to passengers from Dimapur. Passengers are made to change flights at Kolkata which causes inconvenience and wastage of time, he told the IndiGo officials. The IndiGo officials while appreciating the chief minister for the continued support to IndiGo air operations, assured that the direct return flight would be resumed by end of September.
