Air India fined Rs 15,000 for causing mental agony to passenger

District Consumer Forum, Srinagar Wednesday directed Air India to pay Rs 15,000 for causing ‘mental agony’ to its passengers after finding it “deficient of services.”
Ghulam Hassan Bhat of BreinNishat had filed a complaint before the forum in 2013 that after returning from pilgrimage (Hajj 2013) through Air Indian flight, he along with his co-passengers was scheduled to land at Delhi.

In his complaint, he had stated that after their arrival at New Delhi Airport, the authorities airlifted them to Srinagar on the same day through other airline of Air India.

In his complaint, he had stated that after their arrival at New Delhi Airport, the authorities airlifted them to Srinagar on the same day through other airline of Air India.
As per complaint, he has two luggage bags contained dates and the other valuable articles. “However, to the dismay of the complainant one bag containing the valuable articles was found missing at Srinagar Airport.”
He had informed the concerned authorities of Air India at Srinagar airport about the matter and also submitted a written application.
