Lucknow meeting pushes international airport at Jewar further on track

Greater Noida: A high-level meeting was held in Lucknow on Monday to push the International airport project further on track. While a Government Order (GO)was issued by the Uttar Pradesh government formally appointing Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) as the nodal agency for carrying out the airport project, the government also directed that a decision soon be taken regarding the airport's Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Techno Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR), which were made out in 2007. The meeting was convened by the state Chief Secretary, Rajive Kumar.
According to YEIDA officials, Kumar has directed that a decision regarding project's DPR and TEFR be taken at the earliest. "A 2007 work-order of the DPR and feasibility report initiated by consultant Larsen & Tubro & Romboll is still not final and remains under consideration," said Shailender Bhatia, Officer of Special Duty (OSD), YEIDA. "The government has to decide whether this DPR and feasibility report has to be continued towards completion or a new agency needs to be appointed to make a DPR and carry out the feasibility report," he explained.
