MP to protest outside civil aviation office in Delhi

Nashik: Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP from Nashik city Hemant Godse will stage an agitation outside Union ministry of civil aviation's office in Delhi on December 26, protesting against non-operation of flights from Nashik's Ozar airport under the Centre's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).
The MP is upset because Deccan Charters Pvt Ltd was supposed to start flight operations in September connecting Nashik with Mumbai and Pune, but the operations are yet to take off.

"The main problem is that the private agency handling the Mumbai Airport is not providing slots to the airline operator due to which the flights from Nashik cannot take off. I have been insisting that Union civil aviation ministry intervene on the issue so that time slot is provided to the airline operator. But there has been no response from the ministry. I had even written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drawing his attention on the issue. But the PMO too did not respond," Godse said.
According to him his stir is to highlight how the private agency managing the Mumbai airport is meting out step-motherly treatment to Nashik on the issue.
