Security tightened around Srinagar Airport

Srinagar: In view of Tuesday’s Fidayeen attack on a BSF camp, the security agencies have tightened the vigil in and around Srinagar Airport.

Three militants, one BSF ASI were killed while four other security personnel were injured after a group of Fidayeen attacked a BSF base near Srinagar International airport.

Soon after the attacked, a hurriedly security review meet was called by the Airport Authority of India to discuss the “possible security measures” for the future.

Director AAI Srinagar, Sharad Kumar said that Airport Security Committee (APSC) meet was held to deliberate the “enhancement and improvise” of security measures at airport.

“Normally, we held the APSC meet every month. But this time it was hurriedly called to discuss the present security scenario at the airport. It was participated by the CRPF, JK police and other stakeholders,” he said.
