Confusion over change in parking fee at Indore airport

Indore: The proposal to offer parking on airport premises for 30 minutes at Rs 25 has created a lot of confusion among people visiting the city airport. After a word about the proposal went around on Wednesday, more than half a dozen visitors including taxi drivers started arguing and fighting with the parking staff claiming that the new parking fee is Rs 25 instead of Rs 55.
Airport officials said that they had sent a proposal in this regard, but a final decision would be taken only after approval from the headquarters. "It is only a proposal which we have sent to headquarters of Airport Authority of India (AAI). The report published by local media has created trouble for us as many passengers argued with our parking staff and alleged that the charges collected from them are illegal," airport director Aryama Sanyal told TOI.
She further said the reports led to confusion among visitors over existing parking charges. "As of now there is no confirmation about approval of this proposal, so we are not sure whether it will be implemented or not," she added. The matter was bought into notice of airport officials by the parking staff when many visitors started arguing with them claiming that the fee has been reduced to Rs25. Pankaj Kumar, incharge of airport's parking facility said, "Around 10 people including taxi drivers have so far argued with the parking staff over collection of parking charges.
