Despite Vijay Sampla’s announcement, Airline yet to start booking for Adampur-Delhi flights

Jalandhar: Despite claim by Punjab BJP president and Union minister Vijay Sampla that SpiceJet would start booking tickets for the flights between Adampur and Delhi from November 1, the airline has not initiated the booking process. The company is also not sure if it would be starting flights from December 1, as announced by Sampla.

Recently, Sampla had claimed that SpiceJet would start its service from the upcoming domestic airport at Adampur from December 1, and it would open booking from November 1. However, SpiceJet has not started any online booking.
When asked on Friday, Sampla said he had made the announcement after it was conveyed to him by the Union ministry of civil aviation that decks had been cleared and the flights would be starting from December 1 and the company could start bookings from November 1. He said he had been told that SpiceJet wanted to operate from Terminal 1 of the New Delhi airport while it had been asked to operate the flight from Terminal 2.
"I have asked minster of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha to get the issues sorted out. My concern is that the flight starts as scheduled after different stakeholders have agreed to it," he said. Sampla revealed that Air India Express officials had also expressed their willingness to operate the flight between Delhi and Adampur as it would have a good potential.
