Flights of AI, GoAir and Indigo cancelled

Ramchi: Passengers going to Delhi from Birsa Munda Airport faced a tough time as six flights to Delhi were cancelled due to the ongoing repair work at Delhi Airport. Officials at Birsa Munda Airport said that these flights will remain cancelled for two more days.

“Three flights of Indigo Airlines, two of Go airways and one of Air India have been cancelled while flights of Air Asia and Vistara Airlines have not been cancelled their flights,” said  an official at Birsa Munda Airport. The flights operating to and from Delhi, however, are running very late, he added.

The official said that those who have booked their tickets in advance were being informed that they could get their tickets cancelled and their money was being refunded and those who were interested in postponing their journey were being provided fresh tickets on the dates of their choice.

The runway 11-29 of IGI airport was closed for maintenance for three days from November 7 to 10, he added.

Meanwhile, passengers going to  Delhi, have been facing a tough time as the ticket fare has drastically been increased up to Rs 18,000 – 20,000.

In another development, giving more options for the passengers, Indigo Airlines will be starting another flight to Hyderabad from December 21 which will land here at 12:55 pm and take off for Hyderabad at 1:25 pm. Bookings have already been started for which Rs 2900 will be charged per head as fare for one side.
