Fog forces SpiceJet to stop Delhi morning flight situation

Surat: SpiceJet has announced temporary cancellation of its Surat-Delhi morning flight from December 1, 2017, to February 10, 2018, due to fog situation at Delhi airport.
After terminating its services from the Diamond City for two years, SpiceJet had relaunched its flight services from Surat airport from March 26. The Surat-Delhi flight was flagged off by Union minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha.
Airport activists have opposed the decision of SpiceJet to cancel temporarily its morning Surat-Delhi flight.
A SpiceJet spokesperson told TOI, "The change has been necessitated to avoid inconvenience to passengers. We had tried our level best to shift the timings for the fog period, but could not and hence the flight has been temporarily discontinued. We are not cancelling this flight permanently. This flight is open for sale from February 11, 2018. The evening SpiceJet Delhi-Surat-Delhi flight will continue to operate as per its regular schedule."
SpiceJet is the only airline adding new flights, frequencies to metro and non-metro cities from Surat. Scaling up operations and offering additional flying options and travel flexibility for residents of Surat will remain our constant endeavour, the spokesperson added.
