Gold seized at RGIA

Hyderabad: Customs officials on Saturday seized 233 grams of from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here.

Based on profiling of the passengers, Customs officials of the Air Intelligence Unit recovered gold valued at Rs. 7.08 lakh from the flyer who arrived from Abu Dhabi on a Jet Airways aircraft 9W 549, according to a press release.

The passenger had concealed two gold bars weighing 233 grams in his socks with the intention of evading payment of customs duty.
