Tiruchi: A Sharjah-bound Air India Express flight on Tuesday was grounded at the international airport here for several hours due to a technical snag.
The flight, which arrived in Tiruchi from Sharjah around 2.30 a.m., was scheduled to depart an hour later.
However, the aircraft was grounded due to a technical snag, prompting the airline authorities to arrange accommodation for the passengers at a hotel here.
Airport sources said a few passengers discontinued their journey.
A ferry flight of the airline landed here in the evening from Mumbai to take the remaining passengers to Sharjah.
