Surat airport bags first prize in Diwali decoration among category-II airports in country

Surat: Surat airport bagged first prize for its exquisite decoration on the occasion of Diwali festival among category-II airports across the country. The results for best Diwali decoration of airports owned and managed by Airports Authority of India (AAI) were announced on Tuesday.
"It is a proud moment for all the AAI staff and workers at Surat airport. The airport has bagged first position among all the category-II airports in India for the exquisite Diwali decoration. The entire airport was decked up with colourful lightings and landscaping ," airport director Dilip Sajnani said.
Sajnani added, "The AAI has been organizing competitions among the airports across the country for celebrating various festivals and the national days. This is first time that the airport has bagged first prize ."
We Work for a Working Airport at Surat (WWWAS) member Linesh Shah said, "We are proud for the airport and its staff for getting us the first prize. But the celebration should not stop here. We expect the AAI and the central government to provide us our right to fly to international destinations. "
