Mumbai: The 39-old-man, who allegedly molested a 17-year-old Bollywood actress during a Vistara flight, reportedly told police that he had touched her leg unintentionally. He also told the police that he had apologised after she started yelling at him.
Vikas Sachdev, a resident of Andheri in Mumbai, was returning from a funeral in Delhi. He reportedly told the police that he hadn’t slept for a long time and he requested the cabin crew not to disturb him. He said he chose not eat his meal.
He told the police further that he had apologised to the actor after he realised that his leg had touched brushed against her unintentionally.
His wife Divya also supported his claims. She said he was not in the right frame of mind and was feeling very low.
“My husband was coming home from Delhi. His mamaji (maternal uncle) had passed away and he was not in the right frame of mind. He was feeling very low and asked for a blanket. He wanted to sleep. I am shocked at (the actor’s) allegation. The police have taken my husband into custody,” India Today quoted him as saying.
The man has been booked under the POCSO Act and IPC Section 354. He was arrested on Sunday.
