Frequent delays in critical evening hours plague flyers

Pune: Frequent flight delays, especially during evening hours, has been the bane of Pune airport, which handles 64 arrivals and departures from 6pm until midnight daily.
Some of the delays, airline officials claim, have been due to reasons purely related to inadequate infrastructure and logistics. Limited space on the airside has also been a cause for concern.
On November 21, passengers of an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Pune had to remain seated in the aircraft for around 45 minutes as the doors of the aircraft didn't open. The flight landed at the airport at 11:30pm. Airline officials said that due to heavy rain, they had to keep the doors shut and passengers were not allowed to leave as they would get drenched.
On November 26, a disgusted passenger gave vent to her anger on Twitter after she had to wait for long to collect her baggage from one of the conveyor belts. She said she had to wait for more than half an hour to collect her bags as the luggage of three IndiGo flights, which had arrived almost at the same time, was routed on the same belt.
