Gold bars worth Rs 1.15 crore found in Air India aircraft’s toilets

Chennai: Customs officials at Chennai airport seized four gold bars, weighing 4kg and worth Rs 1.15 crore, on Thursday morning. The gold bars were recovered from the rear toilets of an Air India flight that arrived here from Dubai.

The gold bars were concealed behind the commode. They were covered with black adhesive tape.
The seized gold bars have 24 karat purity, according to customs officials.
