Chennai: Customs officials at Chennai airport seized 448gm of gold, worth Rs 13 lakh, from a passenger who came from Jeddah via Bahrain in a Gulf Air flight.
The passenger, Thondaladinne Fakruddin 53, who holds an Indian passport, was stopped in arrival hall. His baggage contained two packets wrapped with adhesive tape which were concealed inside a burkha and a trouser. Four gold bars were found in the packets.
