Hyderabad Metro Rail to extend up to Shamshabad airport

Owing to the overwhelming response the Hyderabad Metro Rail has been receiving, the Telangana government is considering extending the Metro Rail’s second phase to Shamshabad Airport.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has previously announced on a number of occasions that the Metro Rail would be extended up to the airport.Prime Minister Narendra Modi who inaugurated the Metro Rail last week also held discussions in this regard with IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

The possibility of routes for the Metro Rail to connect to the airport would be to connect from LB Nagar via Chandrayangutta to Shamsabad and the other option is to connect from Hi-Tech City via Outer Ring Road.
