Maharashtra govt assures help to Cambata Aviation employees

Nagpur: The Maharashtra government today told the Legislative Council it will everything possible to facilitate the clearance of dues and absorption of 1,400 employees of troubled private ground handler Cambata Aviation.

Minister for Labour and Skill Development Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar gave the assurance when members raised the issue in the Upper House during the Question Hour.

MLCs Kiran Pawaskar, Hemant Takle, Jayant Patil, Bhai Jagtap and others raised the issue of 2,100 distressed employees of Cambata Aviation.

They sought to know the status of pending dues and the issue of absorption of 1,400 of the companys staffers into its principal employer, GVK.

Replying to the queries, Patil Nilangekar said the issue falls under the Centres purview but the the state government had initiated meetings with all stakeholders to facilitate clearance of dues of these employees.
