Shoplifter made to fly back from Pune to Delhi airport to return stolen bag

A man managed to shoplift at Delhi airport and escape but was soon arrested as he landed in Pune.

The passenger stole a ladies' bag from a store at the Delhi T3 airport and managed to board his flight to Pune, according to a Hindustan Times report.

The shop owner informed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) staff at Pune on December 10 and shared details of  the passenger's  phone number, photo.

The shop owner lodged a complaint about the theft to Delhi Police.  The passenger picked up the bag at Delhi airport at 1.15 am and boarded the Jet Airways flight at 2.15am for Pune. As soon he landed at Pune airport, he was detained by the officials and the shoplifter admitted that he stole the bag.
He was made to return back to Delhi airport and return the stolen bag to the rightful owner. The shop owner withdrew its complaint after the bag was returned and the police did not register any FIR.
