Indian national arrested at Sri Lanka's Colombo airport with methamphetamine

Colombo: Sri Lanka Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Thursday (11) arrested an Indian national attempting to smuggle methamphetamine, also known as 'crystal meth' or 'ice', a dangerous drug popular in European countries.

The PNB officers on suspicion inspected the luggage of the passenger arrived from India and found 220 g Methamphetamine hidden in a false bottom of the bag. The stock of drug is valued at Rs. 6 million.

The 50-year-old suspect, who reportedly runs a small shop in the state of Tamil Nadu, arrived onboard a SriLankan flight at 9.45 pm last night. He was arrested at the arrival lounge of the airport.
