Hefty fine in the offing for wrong parking at airport

In an attempt to curb the menace of cars parked in a no-parking areas at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI), the airport officials are likely to slap a hefty fine on the offender. The airport authorities have also joined hands with DG Resettlement, which functions directly under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (Ministry of Defense), to help deal with parking offenders.

Confirming the same, Manoj Gangal, Airport Director, said, “Since the runway recarpeting work has begun at city airport, passengers will be affected from March 1 to April 15 as the runway will be non-operational from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. While we have made several arrangements inside the terminal to ensure quicker entry to the security hold as well as increased seating capacity, we had to also look at the traffic movement in the arrival and departure bay. We have joined hands with DG Resettlement, whose officials will approach the car parked in a no-parking area with a heavy glue and stick the fine on the windshield. The driver may also attract a fine up to Rs 3,000.”
