CISF nabs 2 with 10 gold bars at Guwahati Airport

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has arrested two passengers, carrying 10 gold bars worth Rs 50 lakh at Guwahati Airport, sources said on Monday.
According to an official statement here, a CISF personnel noticed presence of metal in body cavity (rectum) of two passengers on Sunday morning, during pre-embarkation security check (frisking) at the Security Hold Area (SHA) of Guwahati Airport.

The accused, identified as Pappu Khan and Lakhveer Singh, were bound to travel from Guwahati to Delhi. They were taken to a separate place in SHA for thorough checking, where they disclosed that they were carrying gold bars concealed in their rectum (wrapped with balloon).
On checking, 10 gold bars weighing about 1.7 kg were recovered. Senior officers of CISF and Custom Officials were informed about the matter.
