Rahul’s spl flight is still in Hubballi

Hubballi: The aircraft in which AICC president Rahul Gandhi arrived at Hubballi on Thursday is stationed at Hubballi airport.
Caption Jagat Singh Yadav, the pilot of special flight belonging to VT-AVH, an aircraft company, and the woman staff, were summoned to Gokul Road police station late on Thursday night. During questioning, Yaday is said to have explained the details of the journey. He also ruled out malfunction of the aircraft. It is said that Yadav has 26 years of experience in piloting aircraft carrying VVIPs.
When contacted, Yadav said that he has not been instructed by his company to take the flight off from Hubballi. He will stay here and wait for his superiors’ instructions, he said. When asked about police interrogation, the pilot said that he has replied to all their queries.
Complainant Shakeer Sanadi, who is also KPCC general secretary, told TOI that Kaushal Vidyarthee (of New Delhi), who travelled with Rahul in the flight, mailed him the complaint. “As per his instruction, we have filed the complaint demanding inquiry into the flight malfunction,” he added.
According to the FIR copy provided by Sanadi, there were three Rahuls onboard the flight — Rahul Gandhi, Rahul Ravi, SPG officer Rahul Gautam — along with Vidyarthee and Rampreet Gupta, all from New Delhi. Police have registered a case under sections 287 and 336 of IPC and Section 11 of Aircraft Act (1934).
Ahilya Kakodikar, director of Hubballi airport, said that they do not have information on technical glitches in the flight. “As per Air Traffic Controller in Delhi, the flight landed safely without any hurdle,” she added. When asked about the arrival of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) or flight company officials, Ahilya said that she has not received any intimation on this.
Police commissioner M N Nagaraj said that he has requested DGCA to visit Hubballi and give an opinion.
Rohan Gupta, coordinator, AICC communications, told reporters here that the aircraft malfunction, being a serious one, calls for unbiased inquiry. When asked about delay in filing the complaint, Gupta said Vidyarthee was with Rahul Gandhi and hence he took some time to file the complaint.
