Israel invited to set up units at Hisar aviation hub

Chandigarh: Haryana has invited the Israeli aerospace industry to set up ancillary units at an aviation hub, which is being set up at Hisar.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, leading a high-level delegation to Israel, on Thursday met members of Israel Aerospace Industries, who evinced keen interest in the aviation hub and agreed to visit Hisar next month.

“The IAI has entered into a $1 billion contract with India under which it is obliged to invest or procure 30% material from the local market. Israeli officials have assured to explore Haryana as a top priority,” said an official statement.
Mr. Khattar also asked the consortium of cybersecurity companies under the Israel aviation industry to set up base in Haryana in a bid to combat cyber attacks and increase efficiency in cybersecurity.

The Chief Minister pointed out that the proposed Hisar aviation hub could be made into a manufacturing base for the Israeli aviation industry from where the entire south-eastern market could be served as it enjoyed a strategic geographical location.
