Squall & storm in Delhi affect Pune flight services

Pune: The closure of runways at the New Delhi airport following heavy rain and thundershowers affected flight services to the national capital on Sunday.
More than seven flights — both inbound and headed for Delhi — were delayed by from 30 minutes to two-and-a-half hours, sources at the Pune airport said. The sources did not rule out chances of more flight delays, given the condition at the Delhi airport.

A squall and dust storm with a wind speed of up to 109kmph barrelled through Delhi and neighbouring areas on Sunday, affecting flight, rail and Metro operations.
A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Pune, scheduled to take off at 7.05pm, saw a delay of almost two-and-half hours. On the other hand, a Jet Airways flight from Delhi scheduled to reached Pune at 7:55pm was delayed with the fresh estimated arrival time being stated at 10:40pm. An IndiGo flight to Pune set for arrival at 8pm was delayed by 3 hours and the fresh estimated arrival time was 11:41pm.
The AirSewa application of the civil aviation ministry showed that an IndiGo flight from Pune to Delhi slated to take off at around 11:30pm was cancelled. But when contacted, IndiGo officials did not confirm the cancellation until the report was filed.
