Salem: The Deevattipatty police arrested activist Piyush Manush in the city on Monday evening for his alleged hate speech against the proposed Salem-Chennai Greenfield Corridor project.
A police officer said Piyush Manush is accused number one and actor Mansoor Ali Khan accused number two in the case.
Salem Citizen’s Forum (SCF), an NGO run by Piyush Manush, recently organized a meeting with actor Mansoor Ali Khan in Salem. The actor visited Kannankuruchi and Kumaragiri – both waterbodies maintained by SCF. Later, he told reporters that he would not hesitate to kill at least eight people if the eight-lane green corridor project was initiated between Salem and Chennai. The actor also said he would participate in all the protests pertaining to the project and Salem airport expansion project.
