Bastar to get a place on aviation map from June 14

Raipur: Bastar area will get a place on the aviation map with the beginning of Raipur-Jagdalpur-Vishakhapatnam air service on June 14.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed Jagdalpur airport via video conferencing during his visit to Bhilai on the same day.
Bastar collector Dhananjay Dewangan said PM will inaugurate the airport terminal through video conferencing and arrangements for its live telecast have been made at Jagdalpur, the divisional headquarters of Bastar. The air service will connect the tribal Bastar to Raipur and Vishakhapatnam - which is expected to trigger development of the region and boost tourism in the region which sees over 1 lakh tourists every year, said the official. The Jagdalpur airport has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 38 crore. Air Odisha will begin operation of the Raipur-Jagdalpur-Vishakhapatnam service from June 14.
Jagdalpur airport director Kishore Bhowmick said that the flight from Raipur to Jagdalpur will leave at 08:05 am and reach its destination at 08:55 am. The flight will leave Jagdalpur at 09:05 am to reach Vishakhapatnam at 09:50am.
