Celebi bags ground handling contract for Bengaluru airport

Mumbai: Turkish aviation firm Celebi Airport Services has bagged the contract for providing ground handling services at Prem Vasta's FairFax-owned Bangalore International Airport (BIAL).

The company plans to invest USD 7-9 million in enhancing services at the southern India's largest aerodrome, a release said today.
Celebi currently carries out ground handling activities at Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi and Ahmedabad airports.

Under the mandate secured through a competitive bidding process, Celebi will provide ground handling services for a period of 10 years, commencing from August this year, the release said.

"We are focused on expanding our footprint within the country. India is a key market, well set for a major growth path and Celebi is well positioned to contribute, support and play a meaningful role in this change process," said Murali Ramachandran, chief executive officer - India, Celebi Aviation Holding.
One of the key focus areas for Celebi would be to ensure safe, efficient, customer and environment-friendly provisions by capitalising on its global expertise, the release said, adding the company plans to invest USD 7-9 million in this airport.
