Chhattisgarh gets its first regional flight service

Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first domestic flight service for people of Chhattisgarh on Thursday .
He also inaugurated Jagdalpur airport alongwith the passenger flight service of Jagdalpur-Raipur-Vishakhapatanam for providing affordable air services to people under ‘Udaan’ Project of Central Government.

Under this service, a 19-seater aircraft will offer air service from Raipur to Jagdalpur at an affordable fare of Rs 1670.

Notably, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has awarded 10 routes in Chhattisgarh from various airports under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), officials informed.

 Nine routes will be operated by Air Odisha and one by IndiGo Airlines.

 The routes to be operated by Air Odisha are--Ambikapur-Bilaspur, Bilaspur-Ambikapur, Jagdalpur-Raipur, Jagdalpur-Vishakhapatnam, Raigarh-Raipur, Raipur-Jagdalpur, Raipur-Jharsuguda,, Raipur-Raigarh and Raipur-Utkela.

 The IndiGo Airlines will operate on Raipur-Allahabad route, they informed.
