Patna gets air connectivity to Allahabad

Patna:  Jet Airways on Thursday commenced operation of a flight on the Patna-Allahabad route.
The flight involving a short-haul ATR-72 airliner has been launched under the UDAN-RCS, or Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik regional connectivity scheme, of the Union civil aviation ministry.
The Allahabad-Patna-Allahabad flight (9W-3557) landed at the city’s Jayaprakash Narayan International aiport at 8.52am and took off for Allahabad at 10.10am. As many as 50 flyers were booked from Allahabad in the aircraft which could seat 72-78 passengers. However, only 19 flyers boarded the flight on its return journey.
The flight will operate thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and takes one hour and 35 minutes for its one-way journey. “Shreya Saurav and her daughter Shanaya Saurav were the first to receive boarding pass for the Patna-Allahabad flight,” Patna airport director Rajender Singh Lahauria said.
