Airport bidders want to exploit surplus land after two years

Nagpur: The project monitoring and inspection committee (PMIC) overseeing privatization of Nagpur airport will meet on July 4. Mihan India Limited (MIL), the current operator, is expected to put forth a proposal to allow the private partner to go ahead with
infrastructure development on the city side, two years after taking over the airport. The present conditions in the concession agreement permit the private player to carry out city side development only six years after take over.
City side development relates to commercial real estate on the land beyond the present airport premises. MIL has over 1,500 acre under its possession, out of which 247 acre are out of the airport limits towards Chinchbhuwan locality. This will be offered to private players for commercial real estate development.
