Baby care kiosk opens at Pune airport, 2 more to follow

Pune: Mothers travelling with infants can expect some relief as the Pune airport has set up a baby care room in the check-in area. Airport officials have said that soon two additional kiosks will be made available in the arrival area as well.
"Airports Authority of India’s regional executive director (western region) Keshav Sharma inaugurated the baby care room on Saturday. The kiosk will be hugely helpful for women, who travel with their infants and need such rooms to take care of them all the time. While we have a baby care room in one of the security hold areas at the departure side already, two more smaller kiosks will be opened in the arrival area soon,” an official from the airport told TOI.
The official said that the kiosk can accommodate two infants and their mothers. The kiosk has all the facilities one needs, including a small tray-like bed where the child can be made to lie down to facilitate a change of nappy and/or clothes. The space also has a screen that displays details about scheduled flights. Bins have been provided to dispose used nappies. The cleaning staff has been instructed to remain alert and clear the room thoroughly after each use.
