Heavy rains: 300 flights in Mumbai delayed by 30 minutes

Mumbai: Heavy rains hit flight operations out of Mumbai airport on Monday as close to 300 flights were delayed by an average of 30 minutes. This means nearly one third of the flights at the airport were affected.
There were no diversions, cancellations or go-arounds because of rain, said a Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL). The spokesperson said there were no major flight delays on account of weather.
Among the affected passengers were those booked on Jet Airways 9W 485, 2.15 pm departure to Chennai which left about two hours late; Air India AI 643 to Udaipur and Jet 9W 914 to Ahmedabad, both delayed by 40 minutes.
